"Blues master Mahal plays from the heart" at Payomet

NORTH TRURO – Taj Mahal is a musician as open-hearted and open-minded as we wish the world to be. The blues master and his quartet, plus one gifted guest, played a rich gumbo of music to a full Payomet Monday evening crowd.

With heat lightning in the sky, and a tornado warning in the air, the audience was treated to a rollicking show of country blues, Chicago blues, Hawaiian, Calypso, West African and rhythm and blues.

Cape Cod Times - Season Kick off for Payomet

Payomet Performing Arts Center in North Truro will gets its warm-weather (we hope) season rolling this weekend with Irish singer Karan Casey performing Saturday night at the Elks Music Hall in Eastham. The legendary Judy Collins will take the stage Sunday night at the Tilden Arts Center at Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable, then folk-pop string band Twisted Pine will play May 31 at Wellfleet Preservation Hall (both shows co-presented by Cotuit Center for the Arts)
