"If the 67-year-old Boston native’s songs illuminate that universe, his performance brings it spontaneously to life, in all its humor, hope, and, especially, innocence." -Columbus Dispatch
"Richman has spent decades removing — or preventing, honestly — barriers between himself and his audience, cultivating an intimacy that is almost extinct in modern music. More than anything, Richman’s career has been about finding the beauty and the joy in simple moments..." -Nashville Scene
"Whether lamenting relationships gone awry or the difficulty of buying jeans, celebrating wine, lesbian bars, or the crap Pablo Picasso got away with, Richman naturally exists in the kind of nakedly genuine, endearingly eccentric world some indie bands pay PR people to fake for them." -SF Weekly
"His perceptive humanism makes for a show with a lot of love going around." -Post-Punk Monk
Live! On Stage: Jonathan Richman featuring Tommy Larkins on Drums!
Singer/songwriter troubadour Jonathan Richman is a Massachusetts music legend.  His shows are more than just concerts, they're parties! Interaction with the audience is an integral part of the performance. Jonathan has been playing music, recording and touring for most of his life. In the 1970s his band The Modern Lovers was influential on the then-burgeoning punk rock and later new wave and indie musical styles. The band's first album is on Rolling Stone magazine's list of greatest albums of all time. Jonathan's songs have been covered by Iggy Pop, David Bowie, the Sex Pistols, Echo & The Bunnymen, and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
