Experience the Heart and Soul of Payomet

Rosanne Cash for PayometThis year and these times have impacted Payomet Performing Arts Center tremendously, and this past season was like none other in their 23 years. Artistic Director Kevin Rice says "one of the ways we're keepin’ on keepin' on" is by premiering a special virtual event designed to do just that on Saturday, October 24 at 5:00pm. Payomet is producing "The Beat Goes On Gala" that features personal messages and cameo appearances from some of the performers who have graced Payomet's stage over the years, including Rosanne Cash, David Bromberg, Suzanne Vega, Tom Rush, Catherine Russell, and a host of others. The audience is invited to join this online experience to help keep Truro's unique venue and non-profit organization strong as it heads into the new year.

Payomet hopes that the support garnered by The Beat Goes On Gala will help them fulfill their mission to bring their diverse mix of performing arts to everyone. Even in the face of the pandemic, Payomet has succeeded in bringing extraordinary artists – Music, Cirque, Theater, Humanities and more – to the outer Cape. Payomet is volunteer-driven and operates with a lean and efficient staff. Rice likes to point out that the support Payomet receives "shows up on stage in the form of world class touring artists and shows."

Payomet has adapted this year with its Drive-in stage and promises to keep it rolling as they recover and land on their feet after this pandemic. They are hoping thousands of their friends and supporters will join them on October 24 for The Beat Goes On Gala to keep doing just that. The gala is free. In order to attend, the public is invited to RSVP online at payomet.org.
